Crescendo Prelude Orchestra Group rehearsal ~ Students entering the 3rd - 5th grade and are learning the violin in weekly lessons. Location: Crescendo Studio at 214 E Howard St. Hibbing, MN for rehearsals When: Tuesdays at 4pm. October through November and again a new session in January through April. Performances: The concert will be held Monday, November 30th, 2026 at the Hibbing High Auditorium. Adult ticket price $8, kids/students/seniors (over 65) are $3, kids 2 and under are free Description: For students enrolled in weekly lessons and entering the 3rd - 5th grade. Students will use sheet music. They will learn their D string and A string notes and how to play a D major scale, and learn Essential Elements Book 1, and other various tunes. Teachers: Christy Tuominen and Julie Takkunen **New this year ** Mandatory Parent Education Meeting September 29th, 5:30pm @ the Crescendo location All students will be starting on violin in Prelude and will have the choice to switch to viola/cello/bass in their 2nd or 3rd year of taking lessons and playing with the orchestra. Rental is available on a first come basis ($15/month), but families who are financially able to lease-to-own or purchase are encouraged to do so. If you already own your own instrument, feel free to bring it, but please do not purchase an inexpensive one “just to try.” We will be happy to assist you. In addition to registering for this Community Ed class you will need to register for lessons (during the school day at the school or after school at the studio). Register for lessons at https://cyo.mymusicstaff.com/register-new-member Students will need to register for this class again in January to participate for the remainder of the year. If the student takes private lessons from a teacher not affiliated with the Crescendo program you need to discuss this with the director and get permission to register for register without Crescendo lessons.

Little Field Trippers Join us for 4 fun adventures where littles and an adult get to explore our local community together! Little Field Trippers will visit exciting neighborhood destinations to learn about the community helpers and the fascinating places around town! Dates & Time: October 22nd; November 5th & 19th & December 3rd 10:30-11:30am Other Info: Once registration is closed, the instructor will communicate with the participants via e-mail about the specific location of each field trip. You should recieve the email 1 week prior to the field trip date. The email will include the meeting location, a link to a read aloud video, and other information on how to prepare your child for the fun filled adventure! Dungeons (Rangers) and Dragons (D&D) is a collaborative storytelling game where the players assume a character role in a fictional world. It involves elements of improv, board game tactics, and acting or role-play. It a team-based choose-your-own-adventure story. DM Shawn (5th-9th grade) This campaign is about 9-10 sessions going from level 1-5 with room to grow or continue if the same group wants to keep playing. Players are adventurers responding to a plea from the king of a small kingdom. His advisors have foreseen a rising darkness threatening to overtake the kingdom. Rangers & Dragons is looking for a 12th grader to become a DM.
