Adult Beginner Strings (Wednesday's 6-7:30pm)
This class is designed for adults who have never played and have no musical background although some experience in band, choir, or piano lessons will be welcome. This is a group lesson where students will be guided in a fast pace through the entire Essential Elements for Strings book 1. A few tunes will also be taught by ear. Self study and practice at home is highly recommended. Each participant will get to try violin, viola, cello, and bass and decide which they like the best and then take that one home to practice. Rental is included in class price. If you already own your own instrument feel free to bring it, but please do not purchase a cheap one for the class. Education about how to purchase an instrument will be imbedded in the class. Introduction of how to play in an orchestra will be the capstone experience of this session with an invitation to join the Crescendo Community Orchestra which rehearses on Monday nights at the Crescendo Center.
Instrument rental fee is included in the fee for the Adult Beginner Class.
