REGISTRATION FOR 2024-2025 SCHOOL YEAR OPENS MONDAY, FEBRUARY 12 @ 8:00AM

Looking for a preschool experience for your child? The Hibbing Early Learning Center is for you. Our preschool includes both a 3 year old and 4 year old program. Located at the Washington Elementary in the new HIBBING EARLY LEARNING CENTER, 2100 12th Ave E, Hibbing MN.

The mission of our preschool programs are to provide a developmentally appropriate environment that enriches each child socially, emotionally, and academically. In this effort, we maintain a 4 out of 4 star Parent Aware rating. Our teachers hold Early Childhood licenses from the state of MN and participate in continuing education in the field of Early Childhood. The curriculum includes instruction in early literacy, math, physical development, social/emotional development, social studies, and science which follow the Minnesota Early Childhood Indicators of Progress (ECIPS). Our staff also works closely with District 701 staff in an effort to prepare students for Kindergarten and beyond. We desire to provide a safe, nurturing environment for each child.

We maintain a 10:1 student to staff ratio with a maximum class size of 20 students in our 4 y/o program and 7:1 ratio with a maximum of 16 students in our 1/2 day Three School program.

PROGRAMS OFFERED:  

  • Ready-Set-Go: (4 and 5 year old) M-F from 8:15am-2:30pm 
  • 1/2 Day Three School: (3 and 4 year old) M-F from 8:10a-10:40a OR Noon-2:30p
  • PreSchool 23-24 ELC Calendar (PLC = early out, blocked off days = no preschool or wrap-around childcare)

COST:

Hibbing Public Schools are required by state School Readiness statute to establish a sliding fee scale for Preschool students. The sliding fee scale establishes a recommended amount of payment for service based on family income and family size. No child will be excluded because of a family's inability to pay. The fee for Preschool is waived for children who qualify for Educational Benefits (i.e. Free or Reduced Lunch/FRLP) or who receive special education services (on an IEP). Below are the standard rates for Ready-Set-Go (4 and 5 y/o) and 1/2 Day Three School (3 and 4 y/o). CLICK HERE FOR SLIDING FEE SCALE, for those that qualify. 

  • Ready-Set-Go: (4 and 5 year old) M-F, $375/month
  • 1/2 Day Three School: (3 and 4 year olds) M-F, $150/month
  • Registration Fee: $50. Charged upon contract approval.


AGE ELIGIBILITY:

  • Full Day Ready-Set- Go: Children must be 4 years old on or before September 1st, of the year they begin the Ready-Set-Go program.
  • 1/2 Day Three School: Children must be 3 or 4 years old on or before September 1st, of the year they begin the 1/2 day three's program.


REGISTRATION:

Registration does not guarantee a spot in the program. Registration is pending until review and approval takes place in May. The registration fee will be charged at the time the registration is approved. A reduced tuition may be approved upon receipt of financial documentation. 


BEFORE/AFTER CARE (Ready-Set-Go only):

Drop off before care will be available beginning at 7:30AM each school day, at no additional charge. After school care will be available until 5:30PM for a limited amount of students for an additional fee ($12/day). Before and After Care services will not be available on regularly scheduled non-school days, vacations, breaks, and emergency closure days. Details and registration for after school care will be available later this spring. This will be a separate registration process. Children are expected be potty trained in order to enroll in After School Wrap Care. After School Wrap Care is only available to those enrolled in our full day Ready-Set-Go program.


TRANSPORTATION (Ready-Set-Go only):

Transportation will be available on a NEED basis. Please indicate your need during the registration process and an Early Learning Center staff person will reach-out to discuss potential availability and options. Transportation spots will be limited and priority given to (1) students who qualify for Pathway (I, II) scholarships, (2) families who could not attend otherwise due to lack of personal transportation, (3) all other transportation requests will be evaluated on an individual basis. Transportation is only available to those enrolled in our full day Ready-Set-Go program.
